With less than 100 days to go in his presidency I thought we should pause and honor W with a song before the final debate between the two guys that want his mess...er...I mean job.
This is from one of my faves, singer-songwriter Jill Sobule, a song I first saw her perform opening for Billy Bragg in Boston back in 2006. Not commercially released and she posted it for free download on her website. I tried to post just the audio track but I couldn't figure that out, so here is a video that someone made and posted on YouTube that isn't very good. Just listen to the track.

OMG. So wait, you're Jose's friend in Seattle, right? I was at that Billy Bragg gig back in 2006. Trust story! It was great, eh? At Somerville Theatre? You want a full recording of the entire gig? I have one, and it's good. Just ask Jose for my info. WEIRD!
Well, I'm Jose's friend who used to live in Seattle. Now I live in Manhattan.
Yep, Somerville Theatre is the one. I think it was the last show we saw in Boston before moving to New York.
I do have a lower quality, mp3-sourced copy of the the show (only the BB set) that also has those unfortunate gaps between each track. I'm totally interested in finding a better copy.
One of the best Bragg shows I've seen, and I've been to a ton of them.
At current shows he sometimes tells the story of how he wrote "Old Clash Fan Fight Song" that day in his Boston hotel room and then debuted it that night in the Somerville Theatre.
